Skill Level    Intermediate to Advanced Beginner – knowledge of basic stitches needed as well as -  working in the round,  decreases such as sc2tog, working in a back loop only,  and multiple stitches into one stitch.
Hooks    8 mm hook (metric)

Yarn    You can use any Super bulky yarn/wool for this project, including scrap yarn, I suggest you use Yarn Sub . com for accurate substitution 😊 
    
For my Cowl shown I used:
2 balls  – Bernat Softee Chunky Weight #6 in Color Deep Taupe -  3.5 oz /100-gram balls / 89 yards / 81 meters per ball.
    
Measurement teen/adult average 28" inches Circumference laid flat before joining  X 8” inches high unblocked.
